In April, Katrina and I decided to make pie. So we made apple pie and it was good!
And here are a few pictures from the homeschool game night we had! It was a lot of fun! And we clearly demonstrate that one can never be to old to play a rousing, intense, and competitive game of musical chairs.
Changing gears a bit...about a week ago, Rachel came over to help us work on some painting at my Grandpa's house. Because we're planning to house the groomsmen and so forth down there for the wedding, we have a good incentive to get work done down there.
Then we made tissue paper flowers! We've made quite a few over the past couple weeks...I think we're up to about 60 or 70. We'll be using them to decorate for the wedding.
And here, our flower girl poses with the flowers... :)
Another part of our wedding prep is cake practice. Luckily, we have neighbors who have willingly volunteered to help with this, in the form assisting with the eating part. Saturday evening, we found ourselves in dire need of said assistance. So we ate this cake and it was good.
And finally...a couple days ago I bought a vehicle. It's a 2003 Ford Escape. Here, Katrina poses in...the driver's seat. And actually...it'll be a little under 10 years before she can sit there for real. Scary, yes?

Sounds like you've been busy. I remember those wedding planning days...twice! Haha. Thankfully I'm a guy and didn't have to help so much. Oh wait, I seem to remember frosting thousands of cookies, punching out millions of snowflakes, decorating, carrying hundreds of tables and many hours of sweeping. So I guess I did help out. Just not with my brain. Oh well. Also, REALLY COOL CAR!
I love all of the pictures!! Thanks for posting them. And yes, I totally understand the painting business... I've been doing some of that myself lately ;)
And thank you for letting us in on the cake! It was sooo super good! I'm practicing up on the pies, so hopefully you can come down sometime and try them and see what you think! =)
Heh...I noticed the big smile on your face, Erika, and wondered what was up. Then, I saw that you were in flip flops and everything clicked. :) And I think that the Escape gives you a "tough" look. Just saying.:)
Craftsman: you should write a Younger Sibling' Guide to Surviving Wedding Planning blog post, or something like that :)
Elizabeth: I'm really excited about coming down tomorrow and trying your pies! I'm sure they're just fine, but an extra one or two or 9 opinions can't hurt... ;)
Hunter: I thought *I* gave the Escape a tough look...
Congrats on the vehicle! I also like the pink flower on the cake!!! The cake should be yummo!!! :)
Wow!! Looks like you've been keeping busy :) The paper flowers and the cake look awesome! And congratulations on the car!!! It looks like a good choice :D Thanks for sharing all the pictures!
